Blindekuh
Ours is a sight-based culture, because sight is the most important of the five senses for us. Blindekuh presents the other side of the coin: the visually challenged take charge of sighted people, guide them through a completely dark sensory space and serve them at the bar.
Die Werft
Security is a basic need. The individual as well as the state have to protect themselves against many different kinds of threats. What does this mean at a time when clear positions are much harder to identify? What does Switzerland’s present and future security policy look like? What problems is it up against?
Expoagricole
Expoagricole consists of two exhibitions that complement each other ideally: the SwissMiniNature theme park in Beaulieu Park and the Marché in front of the Bern Gate (Berntor).
Heimatfabrik
By the city gates, on the slope outside the historic city walls, stands a corrugated steel factory building. This is the Heimatfabrik, where the present meets the past.
Panorama of the Battle of Morat
“We pass along a dark corridor, climb a staircase and suddenly find ourselves in the midst of the most violent clash of arms on that bloody June day in the year 1476. It takes some time for the visitor to recover from the initial shock and begin to examine the details of this magnificent painting.” (Neue Zürcher Zeitung, 1894).
The garden of violence
Switzerland, a haven of peace and quiet? Clichés like this are only part of the truth. So violence has to be on the agenda – for Switzerland and for the national exhibition. The garden of violence contrasts with the beauty of nature. In this setting, what would pass unnoticed as a stifled cry is all the more poignant.
Swiss Panorama version 2.1
What does it mean to be Swiss today? Anyone asking this question generally meets with misunderstanding and perplexity. The fact is that the myth of Switzerland has been damaged and the reality in this country is often contradictory. Swiss Panorama version 2.1 takes a closer look at all this.
Un ange passe
Un ange passe is what the French-speaking Swiss say when these unexpected moments of contemplation occur. Illustrating as they do seven aspects of the religious dimension of our existence, the seven little cottages dotted along the shores of Lake Morat will also make you pause for thought.
