Where do you feel at home? |
 |
By the city gates, on the slope outside the historic city walls, stands a corrugated steel factory building. This is the Heimatfabrik, where the present meets the past.

“When you’re young you want to get away – when you’re old you long for home.” But what exactly is home? It’s more than an attachment to a territory, and it’s also more than blind patriotism. Where is home and what does it mean for us? Is it our country, is it our culture, has it got something to do with our consumer habits? Are we born into it or have we moulded it to suit ourselves? Was it thrust upon us or did we do the choosing? One thing’s sure: home is more than just a place, and is something very special and personal for each and every one of us.
